History of FBC Kindergarten Program

First Baptist Preschool-Kindergarten was established in 1962 with one class of Kindergartners. Today we still have one class of Kindergartners but have added 2 classes of Three Year Olds and 3 classes of Four Year Olds.
The framework for our curriculum is the Weekday Early Education Curriculum.  Our goals will be to help your child love learning, increase in knowledge and skills, and develop as God designed in all domains including spiritual, social, emotional, mental and physical.  The children will implement the five senses as they explore, observe, experiment and interact with others on a daily basis.  An integrated curriculum will build connections between existing knowledge and challenging, but achievable goals in the areas of language arts, math, science, social studies, music, art and physical education.  We apply a learning center philosophy in our classrooms which allows children to explore and discover in a stimulating and safe environment.  The opportunity for Christian Influence through curriculum is dynamic when clear, simple Bible truths and stories are incorporated into what we do at each level.  At Christmas our focus is on Christ’s birth.  In October, our focus is on fall harvest.  At Easter our focus is carefully on the simplicity of Jesus as God’s gift to each one of us.

You are always welcome in our school and church. Our goal is to partner with you in providing an excellent church-based early childhood education for your family. We also want to support you as you parent.  We hope you enjoy everything about our programs and encourage you to enjoy these wonderful preschool years with your child!
